纽约州教育局 Office of Teaching Initiatives 规定，从02/04/2004起公校教学助理（又称TA或Para）必须先获取州教育局颁发的Teaching Assistant教学助理（助教）执照才能受聘于纽约州公立学校学前班UPK，幼儿园kindergarden，小学，初中或高中 ，纽约很多私立学校与幼儿园聘请助教也要求申请者有助教执照，获取执照需要通过州考，以及完成教育局规定的相关手续。

怎么上课，要去学校吗？
网课，zoom直播课，在家用电脑，iPad都可以上课
上课周期？
十周，每周固定时间，比如10周，每周六早上9:00-11:30，或者周二晚上7:00-9:30， 每节课都是可以和老师，同学们互动交流的。课程录像下来，都可以反复回看
考助教证书对于学历的要求
需要有中专，高中，大专，或者本科的学历。中国学生需要提供毕业证与成绩单。
助教薪资待遇
刚开始从替补助教Sub Para开始，一天工资是$188，时薪31 工作时间8:00-2:45左右。转正之后，工作时间不超过180天，年薪3-5万。本科学历最高可以拿到4万8-5万3， 时薪也有40多一小时。 一年工作只有173天左右。
如何转正？
Sub para替补助教工作需要满25天，校长同时有预算招全职助教，就可以帮你转正。
助教的工作内容？
老师的教学助理，在课堂上协助老师的工作。主要帮助有特殊需求的孩子，或者早教班的孩子。有学习障碍，阅读障碍，身体障碍或者语言需要翻译的孩子需要助教的单独协助。
学校不同年级只需要一个助教证书？
是的，纽约州助教证书全纽约州都可以通用，从k-12年级都可以。肯维学生在公立幼儿园，小学，初中，高中都有工作。
助教证书有效期？
五年有效，之后可以再renew，但是需要完成100个小时的继续教育学分。
如何从助教到老师？
需要至少有教育类本科学历，满足纽约州老师执照的教育学分要求，通过纽约州具体科目老师的执照考试。EAS和CST两个考试。EAS是所有科目都需要通过的考试，CST是你所教的科目的专业考试。
助教将来还可以做什么，职业前景？
1）助教可以进入私校，公校做助教。2）也可以从事特殊教育行业ABA治疗师。之后可以做注册行为分析师。3）可以考取老师执照，成为公校老师。4）有本科学历的助教可以转代课老师。5）有早教老师执照的话，也可以做商业幼儿园的director。

I learned a lot from taking the Public School Teacher Assistant and RBT courses. The courses were very practical and informative. The instructors explained everything clearly and patiently, and they used real-life examples to help me better understand the responsibilities of a teacher assistant, classroom management, communication with students, and behavior intervention.Through the RBT course, I also gained a better understanding of the basic principles and techniques of ABA. The training helped me improve my ability to observe, understand, and support children.Overall, this learning experience gave me more confidence for my future career and provided me with a strong foundation for working as a teacher assistant.I really appreciate the instructors for their professional guidance and support. The para class has bilingual Chinese teacher which was really helpful and finally got the para certificate and worked as a para for two and half years. Also I got into master childhood education with bilingual Chinese program and graduated in 2025. The EAS exam preparation course also helped me gain test taking strategies and test time management skills. In this EAS course, I also practiced real-exam questions which was helpful.Listening to teacher recording over and over also enhanced my knowledge understanding. Practicing tons of real exam questions and analyzing the reasons and finding the suitable exam study skills may help you perform better. Practice makes perfect.
