Principal Kenvic presides over the 2nd New York Carnation Float Parade in 2024.

Flushing, New York – The ‘2nd Carnation Parade’ of 2024 was successfully held on Saturday, January 6th in Flushing, New York. Teacher Zhou, representing the Sino American Business Association as the organizer, along with several professional hosts, led this grand celebration. This event not only showcased the culture and arts of the Chinese community and other ethnic groups in the area but also promoted the tourism and local economic development of Flushing, becoming a beautiful highlight in New York.

In front of the Flushing Library, Teacher Zhou and other hosts introduced the audience to the various floats and formations approaching. These floats featured unique designs and vibrant colors, showcasing the rich diversity of Chinese culture and its integration with other cultures. During the event, the ingenious combination of various cultural elements added a unique festive atmosphere to the streets of Flushing.

This grand parade took place on January 6, 2024, on Main Street in Flushing. It started at 11 AM and continued until 3 PM. Despite the cold weather and a snowfall warning, the event went ahead as scheduled, demonstrating the organizers’ perseverance and commitment to cultural heritage.

This year’s float parade was on an unprecedented scale, attracting over thirty floats sponsored by various groups and businesses. These floats displayed a multitude of cultural and artistic forms, not only including elements of Chinese traditional culture, like panda characters, but also showcasing other ethnic cultures. The enthusiastic participation of children and the cheers of the audience added boundless vitality to the event.
